1. About These Terms
1.1 These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tax Guru AI website, platform, tools, artificial intelligence models, software, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
1.2 By accessing, browsing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Website Disclaimer, which together form the entire agreement between you and us.
1.3 If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
1.4 We may update or amend these Terms at any time. Updates take effect once published on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
2. About Tax Guru AI
2.1 Tax Guru AI is a technology platform that uses proprietary coded advanced language models, datasets, and proprietary training ("AI Engine") to provide general insights, information, explanations, and educational content relating to taxation and associated topics.
2.2 Tax Guru AI is NOT a substitute for professional tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice.
2.3 The Platform does not provide personalised advice, does not consider your individual circumstances, and does not generate advice that is suitable for reliance in professional, commercial, financial, or compliance activities.
2.4 Your use of the Platform does not create a client–advisor, accountant–client, solicitor–client, or fiduciary relationship of any kind.
3. Beta Testing Program
3.1 The Platform may be released, in full or in part, as a Beta Version. Beta Versions may contain known and unknown errors, bugs, inaccuracies, incomplete features, and inconsistent performance.
3.2 By participating in beta testing, you acknowledge that:
- the Platform is experimental and may malfunction;
- data may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or incorrect;
- outputs may change as the AI Engine evolves;
- features may be added, altered, or removed without notice.
3.3 You agree not to rely on Beta Version outputs for any financial, tax, legal, compliance, lodgement, commercial, or business activity.
3.4 You acknowledge that the Platform may generate:
- incorrect interpretations of tax law,
- inaccurate calculations or assumptions,
- summaries that omit key considerations,
- responses that are speculative or incomplete.
3.5 You must independently verify all outputs through a qualified professional before acting on any information provided.
4. Feedback & Intellectual Property
4.1 During the beta period, you may voluntarily provide feedback, data, comments, feature requests, bug reports, or suggestions ("Feedback").
4.2 By providing Feedback, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and commercialise the Feedback without restriction or compensation.
4.3 All improvements, enhancements, and derivatives created from Feedback become the exclusive property of Tax Guru AI.
5. No Professional Advice
5.1 The Platform generates general information only. It does not constitute:
- tax advice
- accounting advice
- financial advice
- legal or business advice
- compliance or lodgement guidance
- tailored or personalised recommendations
5.2 The Platform is not registered as a tax agent, BAS agent, accountant, lawyer, or financial adviser.
5.3 You must obtain professional advice before relying on any output or using it to make decisions.
5.4 You acknowledge that tax laws change frequently, and the Platform may not reflect the most current legislation, case law, ATO rulings, guidance, or regulatory interpretations.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- Use the Platform for lawful purposes only;
- Not rely on outputs without independent verification;
- Provide accurate information when using the Platform;
- Not input sensitive client data unless permitted;
- Not use the Platform to provide unlicensed or unlawful advice;
- Not scrape, harvest, or extract Platform content;
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, duplicate, or replicate the AI Engine.
7. Platform Availability & Changes
7.1 We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time.
7.2 We are not responsible for: downtime or outages; technical failures; data loss; delays, interruptions, or computational errors.
7.3 We provide no guarantee that: the Platform will be available at all times; the Platform will be error-free; outputs will be suitable for your intended use.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
8.1 We disclaim all liability for any loss, damage, cost, claim, penalty, or consequence arising from your use of or reliance upon the Platform.
8.2 This includes (but is not limited to): loss of profits, revenue, or business; tax penalties, interest, or ATO action; incorrect tax calculations or interpretations; failure to comply with lodgement deadlines; reliance on inaccurate, incomplete or erroneous information; decisions made based on Platform outputs.
8.3 We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, suitability, or reliability of any information generated by the Platform.
8.4 Your use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tax Guru AI, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and agents from any claim, penalty, loss, or liability arising from:
- your use of or reliance upon the Platform,
- your breach of these Terms,
- your misuse of AI-generated information,
- any third-party claim regarding your use of the Platform,
- any advice you provide to others based on Platform outputs.
This indemnity survives termination of your account and access.
10. Privacy & Data
10.1 Your use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy.
10.2 You are responsible for ensuring any information you input complies with privacy laws, including but not limited to the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
10.3 We may collect anonymised usage data and interactions to improve the AI Engine.
10.4 We do not guarantee the Platform is immune from cybersecurity threats.
11. Intellectual Property Rights
11.1 All content, software, algorithms, datasets, branding, trademarks, UI/UX designs, training methodology, and AI Engine outputs remain the exclusive property of Tax Guru AI.
11.2 You may not:
- copy, modify, distribute, reproduce, or publish Platform content;
- train models using Platform outputs;
- commercialise or resell Platform outputs;
- imply endorsement or partnership without our consent.
12. Subscriptions & Payments
If Tax Guru AI offers paid plans:
- Fees will be displayed prior to purchase;
- All payments are non-refundable except as required by law;
- Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled;
- We may modify pricing with reasonable notice.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if:
- you breach these Terms;
- you misuse the Platform;
- you provide false or misleading information;
- you engage in abusive or harmful behaviour;
- you use the Platform to unlawfully provide tax advice.
Upon termination, your rights to use the Platform cease immediately.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Website Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tax Guru AI.
